Let Me Hear A Rhyme

Quadir, Jarrel, and Steph are best friends. Always hanging around together, a posse. A clique. But then, Steph dies mysteriously and the trio is down to a duo.

Steph's younger sister, Jasmine has had enough of her family members dying without knowing why. First her dad, and now her brother. She's also had enough of being judged by the other girls in her neighbor for her style and her hair. Jasmine needs to know what happened to her brother, but she can't do it alone.

When Quady, Jarrel, and Jasmine find dozens Upton dozens of tapes in Steph's room that contain original songs and poems, it opens up a whole secret life he was living that they didn't know about. They needed to get his music mainstream, it's what he would have wanted.

Jaz, Quadir, and Jarrel set out on two missions, getting Steph's music to the streets, and finding who killed him. But when the three of them get wrapped up in lies and secrets, was it really worth it at all?

I loved this book because the writing style felt so natural, like I was having a conversation with the characters. My critique is that the end felt skipped over, like everything happened too quickly. But other than that it was perfect.
