Kind Of An Epic Love Story

Nate doesn’t believe in happy endings. Sure, he is an aspiring screenwriter and movie nerd, and yes he enjoys a sappy rom com once in a while, but all of those endings are fake. In real life, love is complicated and messy, and doesn't end with you and your fairy-

tale partner breaking into song while doves fly behind you. And after Nate finds himself struggling with the complicated aftermath of his best-friend-turned-girlfriend-turned-ex-turned-best-friend-again cheating on him,

and with the death of his dad still ringing in his memory, he’s really just trying to get through the day. And then, his childhood best friend comes back to town, and all of those aforementioned feelings become ten times more complicated. Nate is struggling, and with the stress of a potentially life changing creative opportunity on the line, he really has to figure out who he can trust.

This book painted a realistic picture of the stress of your teenage years and all of the complicated feelings that come with grief and love. You can really feel for Nate and his problems and I really appreciated how honest this story was, and how easy to read it was, the classic romance book with a touch of inclusivity and realism. It quickly became one of my favorite books I've read this year.
