Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell

Simon Snow Series, Book 2

(includes spoilers from Carry On, Simon Snow Series, Book 1)

Baz, Simon, Penny and the gang are at it again in Wayward Son, except this time, we’re taking it international.

Ever since the war ended, Simon has moped around their London flat, eating chips and drinking cheap cider. Baz can’t bear it, he just wants to feel love again. And Simon wants Baz to be free. He wants to end everything between them, for the good of Baz, and himself.

And Penny won’t have any of it.

One day she comes home with three tickets to America.

Penny thinks Agatha is in trouble, I mean, she left magic behind, that can’t be a good sign, and she’s declining all her calls…

So off they go to America! The land of opportunities, right?

Maybe America isn’t what it seems.

Maybe there’s more magic here than anywhere…

Penny’s mom warned us...

Sequels are often very hard to make interesting, but Rowell did just that. The addition of new friends new enemies (and new frenemies) had me on the edge of my seat. In addition to that, she also made you root for now just the heros, but also the relationships (can you say #Snobaz?).

I adored this story and give it 4.5 stars!

Can’t wait for Any Way The Wind Blows!
