Unpregnant

Unpregnant by Jenni Hendriks and Ted Caplan

Veronica Clarke is perfect. Straight A's, heading to be valedictorian of her class at her Christian high school. She had a perfect and popular boyfriend, and a perfect group of just slightly less perfect friends. She was even almost the prom queen.

Until she gets pregnant.

And that's a whole new ballgame.

Her ex bestfriend, Bailey Butler, was the only one who knew. The only problem was being tight about anything with Bailey was social suicide.

Veronica knew she was only seventeen, there was no way she'd be able to raise a child. She had dreams still, and she felt a baby would be a giant road block. She also knew adoption was out of the question, you can't hide a pregnancy forever. But, if anyone, especially her mom and dad, found out she was to get an abortion, well, she's not quite sure what would happen.

So, off she went on a secret road trip with her least favorite person in the world to get an abortion, all the way in New Mexico.

Now, I'm going to go ahead and say this book was wacky. Given, it was a road trip, how do you make that not wacky? During the trip, Veronica regards her decision with careful thought ( at times overthought) while going on the trip of a lifetime. They meet heroes and villains along the way, typical road trip stuff.

I did find this book a little cliché and like I rendered before, wacky, but the way it was presented made it feel one hundred percent purposeful, which I greatly appreciated.

It was hilarious, and had enough drama involved to keep me wanting more. I will definitely read the next book in the series when it comes out. Even though it had its flaws I still liked it.
