BELLY UP, Eva Darrows

Serendipity, or more often, Sara, was your average (almost) high school senior, going to school and parties with her friends, and arguing with her mom. Everything was normal until one day Sara and her best friend Devi went to a party and things got… out of hand. Weeks later, she comes to find out she’s knocked up with a stranger’s baby. Only to also find out Sara and her single mom are moving into her *very traditional* battle ax grandmother’s house. And she’s gonna be the new girl at a new school.
The pregnant new girl.
Sara realizes that she needs to become an adult for her baby, and fast.
But what if she’s not prepared for mom life?
This novel was one of the best I’ve read this season, in fact, I read it in a day.
It was gripping and you could follow the storyline very easily, and it had those laugh out loud, hold your breath, get ready for tears, ship these characters so hard, moments that every reader looks for. It tackled topics that are super taboo, like teen pregnancy, single motherhood, multiracial couples, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this story to anyone looking for an easy page turner. This story is very underrated, and I give it 5/5 stars.
